Duke's Lake

Lac au Duc: your nature base on the shores of a Morbihan lake

On the water: water sports for everyone

At Lac au Duc, enjoy gentle or thrilling leisure activities: canoeing, pedal boating, paddle boarding, sailing, as well as tubing, wakeboarding and water skiing supervised by professionals. The Ploërmel–Brocéliande Water Sports Club, located on this 250-hectare lake, has a large fleet of boats available for hire and offers outings suitable for beginners and experienced water sports enthusiasts alike. Depending on what you fancy: a peaceful kayak trip along the shores, a stand-up paddle session at sunset, or your first go at water skiing for an adrenaline rush. Reservations (pedal boats, kayaks, paddle boards) can be made easily online with the club, which is handy for planning your day by Lake Morbihan.

Around the lake: golf & hydrangea walk

Just a few minutes away, the Bluegreen du Lac au Duc Golf Club offers a 9-hole course (par 36) that is appreciated for its tranquillity: a course accessible to both beginners and experienced players, with beautiful views of the shore. After the green, continue your nature break with the famous «Balade des Hortensias» (Hydrangea Walk), a 3 km marked walking route that runs alongside the golf course and riverbanks: unique in France, it features nearly 5,000 hydrangeas and more than 500 varieties, which can be admired from June to October. For a longer loop starting from the old Ploërmel railway station, take the «Circuit du diable au paradis des hortensias» (approx. 7 km), ideal for enjoying varied views of the lake and local heritage.
